The island lies south of the famous island off the Dalmatian coast. The island is approximately 67 miles long and nearly 11 km wide. The highest point of the island is located on the summit of Sveti Nikola (628 meters), which is roughly in the middle of the island. Hvar has about 2718 hours of sunshine a year.
Accessibility of the island and transport
By ferry Hvar is also from all major cities in the surrounding area within easy reach. There are ferries to Split, Rijeka, Zadar, Dubrovnik and the islands of the archipelago. The larger towns on the island are linked by a regional road together. Of course, there are buses.
